Imaginary Joints and Muscles: Torque-based Proprioceptive Illusions for Extended Body Parts via Skin Stretch Feedback
DescriptionWe propose the concept of “Imaginary Joints and Muscles” to provide intuitive proprioceptive feedback for extended body parts without reliance on vision. Our system uses skin stretch to simulate torque at virtual joint interfaces, evoking muscle-like sensations that accurately represent posture and motion, thereby enhancing the user’s body awareness.
