What is HDR? Perceptual Impact of Luminance and Contrast in Immersive Displays
DescriptionWe studied preferences for different contrasts and peak luminances in HDR. To do this, we collected a new HDR video dataset, developed tone mappers, and built an HDR haploscope that can reproduce high luminance and contrast. Data was fit to a model which is used for applications like display design.
