Biography
Dik Downey is an internationally acclaimed theatre maker, director, puppeteer, puppet and mask maker, teacher and workshop facilitator.
Co-founder of Opposable Thumb Theatre, former co-founder of Pickled Image, he tours internationally, with performances featuring striking visual storytelling, from adult-oriented clown shows like Coulrophobia, to family puppet theatre like Woodland Tales with Granddad, Yana and the Yeti, and collaborators including the Mark Bruce Company and Garsington Opera.
Committed to nurturing the next generation of puppeteers and new forms of puppetry, he teaches at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and has a key role in the development of puppix.
