Matthew Attard is a Maltese artist who represented Malta at the 60th Venice Biennale with I WILL FOLLOW THE SHIP. His work explores images as cultural constructs, with a focus on contemporary drawing through a multimedia, time-based approach. He has exhibited internationally in cities including Venice, Rome, London, Valletta, and Los Angeles. Recent solo exhibitions include segni di rotta (2025), Ship of Fools (2023), and Rajt ma rajtx… naf li rajt (2021). Attard completed a practice-based PhD at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2024 and currently lectures at the University of Malta with the Art and Art History Department.
