Sam Richards recently retired after leading the video media team at Walt Disney Imagineering since 2014, specializing in pipeline and projection mapping tools for attractions like Shanghai Pirates and Flight of Passage. He previously spent 17 years at Sony Pictures Imageworks as a CG Supervisor and Pipeline Architect, earning a Sci-Tech Academy Award in 2016 for the Itview application. His film credits include Spider-Man, The Polar Express, and Contact. Sam now co-leads the Visual Effects Society Tech Committee and contributes to the ASWF Open Review Initiative, where he authored the ORI Encoding Guidelines.
