Biography
Hailing from a multi-national background, Chris Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Technological Systems Management from Stony Brook University. After three years working as a systems engineer in the higher education sector, he chose to pursue further studies at Keio University’s Graduate School of Media Design, where he completed a Master’s degree. This academic experience reignited his passion for research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in sensing technologies and eye tracking. Now in his third year of the PhD program, Chris is conducting research that explores how eye movement patterns—such as gaze behavior and smooth pursuit—can offer insights into cognitive processes, with potential applications in early detection and intervention for cognitive decline.
