Courtney Starrett

Biography
Courtney Starrett is an artist working at the intersection of art, craft, and technology. Her work is in permanent collections and cited in the Springer Handbook on Human-Computer Interaction (2023) chapter Data Physicalization (Dragicevic, Jansen, and Vande Moere, 2019), published in journals such as Leonardo (MIT Press), Metalsmith Magazine, and How Design Magazine; and texts such as Cast: Art and Objects. With Susan Reiser, Starrett coined data materialization to describe a subgenre of data art that utilizes data to connect concepts through form and material. Starrett is an associate professor and Harold Adams Interdisciplinary professor in Visualization at Texas A&M University.
