Biography
Currently a Professor at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design. Previously served as a Research Assistant Professor at Osaka Prefecture University from 2012 to 2014, and as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab in 2011. Earned a Ph.D. in Wearable Computing, summa cum laude, from the University of Passau, Germany, in 2011.
Work experience includes research visits and internships at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC, Palo Alto, US), Sunlabs Europe (Grenoble, France), and the German Stock Exchange (Frankfurt, Germany). Won best paper, demo awards, and various nominations at UbiComp, PERCOM, and ICDAR.
Current research is applying sensors to understand human cognition and augment the mind, with a special focus on eyewear computing. Works to develop technologies to make us smarter.
