Armando Ricalde

Biography
Armando Ricalde began his academic journey studying Physics at UNAM, where he discovered his passion for graphics and 3D animation through scientific visualization and science communication projects. Between 1998 and 2001, he developed award-winning 3D animations for the Institute of Astronomy.
In 2003, he co-founded Cluster Studio, becoming a key figure in Latin America’s digital animation sector. Over 13 years, he demonstrated versatility and leadership—transitioning from artist to project lead, on-set VFX supervisor, and ultimately Director of Technology.
In 2016, Armando joined Ollin VFX as General Manager and VFX Producer, contributing to high-profile productions such as House of Cards, Mindhunter, Bright, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Asura, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
In 2022, he joined Boxel Studio, initially as Chief of Leadership and Organizational Learning, and then in 2023, he ascended to the role of CTO, steering the technological development and vision of the studio.
