Monika Fleischmann (1950) German artist, studied fashion design and art education. In 1987 she co-founded ART+COM, Berlin. Since 1997 she has been head of the MARS Lab at Fraunhofer Research. In 1999 she was Professor of Media Art at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since 2008 she is Honorary Professor for Media Art at the University in Bremen, Germany. In 2018 she received the SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art. Her work - produced with Wolfgang Strauss - has been exhibited internationally, including Tate Modern, Centre Georges Pompidou, PS1, Pratt Manhattan Gallery, and ZKM Karlsruhe.
