Tyrus graduated from Simon Fraser University with a BA in Cognitive Science, where he co-authored two published research studies investigating the intersection of technology with human learning. Working in the language assessment field, he witnessed first-hand the impact of generative AI on non-technical roles. This inspired him to return to SFU to undertake a BSc in Computing Science, where he is currently occupied with computer vision and machine learning.
