Johnny Han
Biography
Johnny Han is an award-winning visual effects supervisor and 2nd unit director with 25 years of experience across film, TV, and advertising. Most recently, he served as VFX Supervisor and 2nd Unit Director on HBO’s The Penguin, blending practical and digital techniques to bring Gotham City to life.
His credits include Superman Returns, Spider-Man 3, 2012, Pacific Rim, Smallville, Heroes, and The Nevers. He's worked at top studios such as Lucasfilm ‘s ILM, ScanlineVFX, Framestore, Sony Imageworks, among others.
Johnny has received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Visual Effects, along with two Visual Effects Society Awards and six more nominations. He’s known for his collaborative approach and for bridging the gap between on-set production and inventive VFX and post-production solutions.
In addition to his VFX work, Johnny is an accomplished commercial director, bringing a deep understanding of live-action filmmaking and computer animation to the fast-paced world of advertising.
