Ryu Villemin
Biography
Ryusuke Villemin has been at the forefront of rendering technology with a career spanning France, Japan, and the United States. He began at BUF Compagnie, co-developing their in-house raytracing renderer. At Square-Enix in Japan, he led the development of custom shaders and lights for MentalRay. After freelancing for major Japanese studios like OLM Digital and Polygon Pictures, he joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2011, contributing to the pivotal transition of RenderMan to physically-based rendering. Currently, he is working at Aurora Innovation, developing Alba, their in-house rendering platform that generates high-fidelity simulations of real-world data for autonomous driving systems.
